This is a poster for "90210" by Travis Scott, the fifth track from his debut album “Rodeo.” 90210 is the postal code for Beverly Hills. On the track, Travis sings about the lifestyle of different people he’s met making his way to the top. The first half of the song is about the dark side of LA, the prostitution and drug induced lifestyle. The dark and moody instrumental paints the picture of what it felt like to be in those situations, the dark side of Beverly Hillls. Travis talks about a girl he met that has since lost her way and is engulfed in the toxic lifestyle that LA has provided her. It has changed her. She’s partaking in prostitution, suffering from addiction, desperately seeking attention, and blowing the money her parents send her on drugs. Then the song fades into the second half with a beautiful piano sample and luscious guitar riff. This is where Travis explores the glorious lifestyle he now has. He survived the 90210, he’s made it past the struggle. There are plenty of lines where he boasts about his achievements, including mentioning his family and how they initially disapproved of him chasing his dreams of becoming a superstar, but they are now proud of Travis. Despite his earlier issues, he’s shown to be a committed family man, and is able to provide due to his success. The whole second half comes off as a ballad. It is essentially the story of someone who has worked hard to become successful and is now enjoying the luxuries and rewards of their success, seeing people fall to drug addiction and and bad habits, the dark side, but the fame and wealth is his addiction. Travis says that this song is his favorite off the album.
